This is a photograph I took from the Iron Bridge on Rt. 58 just south of Mercer, Mercer Co. PA. The Iron Bridge has since been replaced but the place is still marked by the presence of the Iron Bridge Inn.
I started taking photos a long time ago as a child with a hand me down old Kodak camera that took a 125 film cartridge. At first it was simply a means to record events, places and people, but now I find excitement in trekking, usually by bicycle, through cities, small towns, rural communities, abandon industrial sites and old buildings. I absorb the sights, sounds, smells and lighting of new places and try to capture their essence and communicate something of their majesty, mystery, memory, and drama. For me photography is a way to share the excitement and beauty of the world and express my own unique view of it. It's an art and a powerful communicator.

Very pretty scene Joyce, lovely warm colors contrasting against the nice deep shadows really looks inviting. Looks like it would be a great spot to go to, sit back and relax for a while. Nice capture ! !

Thank you Frank. This was taken in the area of western Pennsylvania were I grew up, where route 19 crosses the Shenango River. There is a restaurant there called "The Iron Bridge Inn" however the Iron Bridge is now gone replaced with a more modern structure that has a lot less character.
